Stanley L. Weaver

Stanley L. Weaver, 74, went to his eternal home in Heaven on June 20, 2024, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
Stan was born on March 12, 1950 in Adams County to Arthur F (Jack) and Dorothy (Brewster) Weaver (both deceased). He married Karen Sue Steury on June 26, 1971–the two were to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife Karen and 5 children: Jason (Dayna) Weaver, Laura (Herb) Bergman, Brandi (Jeff) Berkshire, Megan (Tad) Feaster, Katie (Travis) Moore; 22 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Wayne, Gloria (Deannie), and Tex. He is preceded in death by his sister Myrna.
Stan began working for Berne Furniture during his Senior year of high school. He continued working there for 40 years until they closed. From there he went to Smith Brothers where he retired his career as an upholstery specialist. Stan joined the Air Force soon after high school where he was part of the National Guard for 6 years. Stan also enjoyed farming for his parents and custom combining for the local Amish community. Stan was a man of many talents. He used those to help anyone in need-from snowplowing, appliance repair, construction, car maintenance..you name it, Stan did it!
Stan also had many hobbies. He loved hunting.err.hanging out around the campfire on his many hunting trips to southern Indiana and Michigan with friends and family. You could also find him tinkering in his barns on motorcycles, 3 and 4 wheelers, antique gas engines, wood projects, and his recently purchased Model T. He was also known by many to be a bit of a prankster..from short-sheeting beds, Saran wrapping toilets, cutting out the crotches of underwear of honeymooners, igniting firecrackers to unsuspecting victims, removing and hiding tires, rubber banding sink sprayers.there was no limit to his orneriness, and no one was safe.including pastors!
Family was also important to Stan. He loved camping at Amishville twice every year with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. He looked forward to the annual Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show every August where he spent countless hours with friends, family, and engines. He also took family vacations, even continuing to go on trips with his married children and their families. He supported his grandchildren at their many sports and activities.
He was a member of Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene where he served on the church board, ushered, greeted, volunteered on several mission's trips, and was known as a church handy-man.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, located at 100 N. Washington Street, Geneva. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene, located at 5005 E. 500 S., Berne, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10:00 am, with an hour of visitation prior to the service.
