Stella Bishop Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thompson Memorial Home - Red Bank on Mar. 1, 2026.
Stella (Green) Bishop, much beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 27, 2026, at her home. She was 96 years old.
Stella is survived by her daughter, Holly Terrett Czarnecki and her husband, Rob; her granddaughters and their husbands, Shannon Morris (Matthew) and Suzanne D'Arcangelo (Joseph); grandson, Kyle Czarnecki; her seven great-grandchildren: Griff Morris, Sofia D'Arcangelo, Gwyneth Morris, Whitley Morris, Stella D'Arcangelo, Luka D'Arcangelo, and Maeve D'Arcangelo; her brother Curt Green, along with countless cherished family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Willis Schureman, former husband Alfred Terrett, husband Harry Bishop and sister Lois Garifine.

Stella lived a life defined by devotion - to her family, her faith, and her friendships. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she adored fiercely and proudly. She was blessed with a large and loving extended family. She never missed a birthday and always had a card on hand, complete with a handwritten note offering cheer, wisdom, or encouragement. She loved telephone conversations and was always ready to take or make a call, reveling in the conversations she had with the people she cared about.

Stella was never content to sit on the sidelines - she was always in the middle of the fun, especially around her famed pool in the summertime. With boundless energy and a joyful spirit, she didn't just attend the party - she created it. Her home was the gathering place; the door was always open. If you showed up, you were welcome. With her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she brought adventure to everyday life - from beach days long ago to more recent imaginative card games. She not only experienced watching them grow but jumped right in beside them.

Stella loved to work and to travel, combining her two passions into a career as a travel consultant. In her day, she also enjoyed being a receptionist for several dentists' offices, as a sales associate at Bamberger's and a bookkeeper for a local funeral home. In the last few years, she owned and operated a car service where she answered calls and booked trips right up until quite recently. She enjoyed talking to people and was quick to make friends out of coworkers and even clients.

Stella had friends of all ages, a rare and beautiful gift that reflected her vibrant spirit. Whether lifelong companions or newer friends, people of all ages were drawn to her warmth, honesty, and unmistakable presence. She had a way of making others feel seen, respected, and part of something meaningful.

Stella lived fully and loved fiercely, leaving behind a growing family who will carry the legacy of her strength and joy forward always. She was undeniably the glue that kept the family together. Though our hearts are heavy, we are so deeply grateful for the foundation she built and the lessons she gave us on how to fully live life. The laughter may soften, but the memories will never fade. We will forever carry her voice in our hearts.

She will be missed. Every single day.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 2-5 pm, with a prayer service at 4:30 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to Meals on Wheels in Stella's name-or simply call your grandmother.
