Stella Perpich Obituary

Stella (Colpo) Perpich, 89, of Cheswick, went home to Jesus, Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, after a brief illness. Stella was born March 16, 1933. She graduated from Springdale High School in Springdale. After schooling, she quickly met the love of her life, Edward Perpich, in Harmarville, while observing a soccer game. Stella, affectionately nicknamed, "Toots" by Ed, was married for 62 years and went on to have four children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Earlier in life, Stella spent most of her days as a dedicated stay-at-home mother and caregiver, extending compassion and encouragement to those who needed it most. As time passed, Stella treasured traveling with her husband and had many adventures supporting Ed's sales, visiting grandchildren and vacationing across the Caribbean. Stella lived a love-filled life as a thoughtful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed playing the piano, dominating Scrabble games, being a couch side political correspondent and gardening. She had a special talent for nurturing even the most delicate plants to life, like her favorite African violets. Stella never missed a birthday or anniversary card opportunity or the occasion to fix anything with a little Vicks salve. Stella was an avid picture-taker and wove her family's memories together through countless photographs spanning decades. She hosted many gatherings where everyone was able to enjoy great food and time together and often captivated the minds and attention of all with her ability to recall and story-tell in vivid detail. Most of all, Stella cherished her family and instilled values and skills that have served them well. Her sweet disposition, green thumb and heart of gold left an indelible legacy of love that continues to unfold in the chapters of her family's lives. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anne Colpo; siblings, Bob Colpo and Ron Colpo; daughter, Mary Anne Lessig; and adoring husband, Edward Perpich. Stella is survived by her devoted daughter, Terri Beer (Ken), of Vandergrift; her loving sons, Joseph Perpich (Sue), of DuBois, Pa., and James Perpich, of New Jersey; grandchildren, Eric Derbaum, Cassie Dundon (Chris), Jenna Toth (Chris) and Joseph Perpich; great-grandchildren, Lilliana and Alexander Toth; and siblings, Jim Colpo (Barb) and Jeannette Colpo. A private celebration of Stella's life will be held during her favorite time of year when nature starts to bloom again. Arrangements are by DUSTER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E. Tenth Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Visit: www.dusterfh.com.
