(Steve Nazar) Stepan O. Nazar, lovingly known as Steve, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the age of 67. Steve was born on October 7th in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania and moved to California at the age of four. He was raised in Riverside, CA alongside his brother, David, and parents, William and Janet Nazar, all deceased. Steve also had a son, David, named after his brother, who is also deceased. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane, his stepdaughter, Christin and his grandchildren, Frankie and Noah David. Steve's journey was one of creativity, passion and love. He grew up with a love for art, particularly cartoon art, which he was exposed to at a young age. As a child, Steve was fascinated by the Beach Party movies and spent many hours skating on his skateboard with steel wheels. His passion for creativity never wavered. After graduating from Poly High School in Riverside he attended Hollywood Art Center School where he honed his craft. In the 1980s Steve gained significant recognition for the iconic characters he created for T&C Surf Designs, bringing Thrilla Gorilla and Da' Boys to life. His unique signature cartoon style left a lasting impact on the world of design and pop culture. Over the years Steve worked with numerous major companies and bands, bringing his art to life in countless commissioned pieces that were celebrated for their fun, distinctive flair. In 2018, Steve married his soulmate, Diane. Their bond was something truly special as they enjoyed a simple, joyful life together. They shared many fond memories, regularly attending concerts and building a life filled with love and laughter. In December of 2024 they made a dream come true by moving to Palm Desert where they planned to retire together. Though their time in the desert was short the memories they made during those few months will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Steve's love for his family was immeasurable and he was especially proud of his granddaughter, Frankie, who has followed in his artistic footsteps. He had a profound influence on her and countless others, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and inspiration. Steve will be remembered not only for his incredible artistic talent but for his generous heart, his unwavering love for his family and his ability to make the world a little brighter with his art. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through his art, his family, and the countless lives he influenced. We find comfort in knowing that we will be reunited again in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ A celebration of Steve's life will be announced on his Facebook and Instagram at a later date. Rest in peace, Paan - your art and your love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
