Ms. Stephanie Beason, 71, passed away on April 21, 2022 at her residence in Walnut Grove.
Stephanie Louise Beason was born in Chicago, IL on Valentine's Day in 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Beason, her father, Robert South, her mother Louise "Big Lou" Simonton, her older brother Earl Lee Sr. and her older sister Lucretia South.
Stephanie attended Martha M. Ruggles and St. Dorothy Elementary Schools, St. Thomas Catholic High School and Chicago Vocational High School, where she received her diploma. Stephanie grew up in a community-based neighborhood in Chicago where everyone looked out for one another. As a socialite growing up, she enjoyed playing bid whist, cards, and hanging out at house parties listening to 60's music.
Stephanie married Willie Beason on May 18th, 1985. They relocated to Walnut Grove, Mississippi in 1989, where they built a beautiful home and life together for 31 years. Stephanie was an involved citizen and participated in civic and community organizations. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and was an active member of The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Court 199. She was a cheerful giver to schools, community organizations, and parishioners in need. She avidly contributed to St. Jude's.
As a young woman, Stephanie was a Jack of all Trades. She worked as a court stenographer, hair dresser, and as a dispatcher for the Markham, IL police department and for Pace Bus Company. She retired from the University of Mississippi where she worked in the physical therapy department.
Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, baking, and entrepreneurship. Stephanie developed and owned DePrad's Skin Care, enjoyed creating and selling Valentine's baskets, and started a travel company. She's enjoyed traveling to China, the Caribbean, and especially enjoyed taking a Disney Cruise with her grandchildren. She loved talking about and developing new business opportunities. Her latest business venture wish was to open a small bakery called "The Nieces," in honor of the love she shared with all of her nieces.
Stephanie was a sweet and loving person who did not hold her tongue when speaking her mind.
She was compassionate about the people and things she loved. She had a witty and sarcastic sense of humor. She loved her children and always wanted the best for them.
Stephanie is survived by her sons, Steven (Nicole) Wilson, Timothy (Jilliane) Owen, her nephew Jerome Simonton, 5 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a lot of family and community friends.
