Stephanie Mechelle Cannon passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 at New York Presbyterian Medical Center. She was born on September 22, 1958, in Americus, Georgia to James Lafayette Cannon and Ruth Harris Cannon. Stephanie was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known for her jovial spirit and her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her sons were truly her heart's delight, and she found her greatest joy in loving, nurturing, and supporting them throughout their lives. She leaves to treasure her memory her sons: Kenyon L. Cannon and Alan Jordan, adored granddaughter; Trinity S. Cannon, two sisters; Ira Cannon Thomas and husband Ron and Trecia Nicole Cannon, her brother; James Lafayette Cannon, two sisters in law; Robin D. Cannon and Hariette Cannon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Stephanie was predeceased by her son; Alexander L. Jordan, brothers; Hilliard Cannon, III and Robert Cannon. Visitation will be held Monday, March 16, 2026 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 am at Greater Faith Baptist Church, 27 Baxter Ave., Stamford, CT. Presiding Elder Winton M. Hill, III officiant. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford.
