Stephanie Dacko Obituary

Stephanie Dacko
Born: March 28, 1947 in Germany
Died: January 14, 2023 in Spring Valley, IL
Stephanie (Kuchar) Dacko, 75, of Peru, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Margaret's Health, Spring Valley.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dacko was born March 28, 1947 in Germany to Jaroslaw and Tatjana (Tartijba) Kuchar. She married Steven I. Dacko on September 29, 1973 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Chicago.
Steph was a licensed cosmetologist. She gave the world's best haircut and through the years worked at Bergner's, Trendsetters, Anne Frances Salon and privately out of her home. She was an amazing cook and her chicken soup was legendary. She was very creative and made the best halloween costumes. She enjoyed movies, especially classic movies and she enjoyed music and loved to sing. Steph was funny and had the best laugh and facial expressions. She enjoyed being outdoors, in the sun, and especially loved gardening and feeding her bird friends. She loved everything Chicago. She was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks fan and she loved Chicago-style foods, especially a Chicago dog and an Italian beef and sausage combo. Most of all, she loved her husband and children.
Survivors include three daughters, Liz Dacko and Lainie Dacko both of Chicago and Nina Dacko of Houston, TX; three brothers, Jerry Kuchar and Mike (Pat) Kuchar both of Schaumburg and Peter Kuchar of Indiana; several nieces and nephews and her beloved parakeet, Duckman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven on July 24, 2021 and her parents.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Aunt Steph, I will miss your laugh and the memories of blasting the music while dancing/singing to Julio Iglesias! You are always super fun to be around. When I think back, as a kid, you always loved us and made us feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you for the great times and fond memories. You do make the world's best mostaccioli and always gave the warmest hugs! You will be missed dearly but I hope your spirit will be around us always!

Love, Your Godson,
Nicky
