Stephanie Smith Felder passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born September 23, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi to Joseph Peter Oliveri and Josephine DiStefano Oliveri. She attended Mississippi State University. Having been an EMT for over 30 years, she found her passion when she became the CEO of Operation Life Saver in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - a renowned Training Center that she built with her tenacious and determined attitude.
Stephanie is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Michael Felder; her daughters, Tracy Stanton-Smith and Christy Loflin and husband, Tommy; and their beloved grandchildren Christian Stanton, Reece Loflin, Sydney Stanton, Jackson Loflin and Emma Stanton; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Stephanie enjoyed traveling, having made multiple trips to Orlando, relaxing on beaches, and experiencing snowy evenings in on a ski vacation. She would never turn down a shopping trip with her daughters, especially if it included shoes. Stephanie cherished being a grandmother and was at every cheer competition, dance recital, baseball tournament and football game when it came to her grandchildren. There are certain things that will always remind us of her, including her love of country music concerts and her running on her own ‘fashionably late’ timeline. Never at a loss for words, Stephanie will be remembered fondly by all who knew her as a lengthy and skilled conversationalist. The memories made and the love we felt will last a lifetime.
The family of Stephanie Smith Felder invites friends and extended family to a Catholic Service at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, with Deacon Don Musso officiating.
