She moved to Houston, Texas in the early 80's where she developed a love for running. She participated and completed several marathons. In 2016, she moved with Krystal Barrios, her guardian of 15 years, to Pocahontas AR where she has many friends and adoptive family. She loved spending time on the farm and fishing.
