Stephanie Marie Carruth Thornton

Stephanie Marie Carruth Thornton was born on February 10, 1960 to Joseph Carruth and Cinderella Vallery. Stephanie was a very outgoing people person and could make friends quicker than anyone, going out of her way to do so. Born the sixth of seven children, Stephanie kept her siblings in line. If you didn't want mom and dad to know about something, you didn't tell Stephanie.
As a very studious child, Stephanie developed a love for Jehovah and the future hope of living forever in paradise. She especially longed to be reunited with her dear mother who fell asleep in death when she was a young child. On July 13, 1974, Stephanie dedicated her life to Jehovah at the age of 14 and was a faithful servant for 48 years who pioneered when her circumstances allowed her to.
She began her career in the medical field at the Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, LA where she worked in the laboratory. She would eventually become a Certified Nursing Assistant caring for the loved ones of many families.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Thornton, Jr., mother Cinderella, father Joseph, brothers Sylvester and Bruce, sister Mary Bell, aunt Georgina Carruth, brother-in-law Larry Jones and stepson Jerone Daniel Thornton.
She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Loretta V. Jones, Joseph Carruth, Gerald Carruth, and Wanda Isaac (Alexander), nieces, Danita Morris, Dondeyel Astur, Dashita Morris and Brandi Isaac, nephew Richard Morris, III, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
We extend a special thank you to her stepson Josiah Thornton, whom she viewed as her own son, and daughter-in-law Erica Thornton for caring for her during this difficult time.
We would also like to thank the many friends, employers, coworkers and acquaintances who visited, called, sent text messages, provided supplies and food, brought flowers and gifts and prayed with and for Stephanie. Your generosity and loving concern are greatly appreciated.
