Stephanie Marie Patterson

With deep sadness, Stephanie Marie Patterson, age 74, of Roseville, California passed away
peacefully on September 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Steph was born on May 23, 1951, in
Oakland, CA to her parents Edwin and Helen Davidson. She attended St. Lawrence O'Toole
grammar school and Bishop O' Dowd High School in Oakland. She brought love and laughter
wherever she went.
Steph was employed by several firms: Bank of America in San Leandro, CA; Bank of
America in Davis, CA and Bechtel National in Oak Ridge, TN. She also worked for the
Provost at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and her last employment was with the
State Board of Equalization for 25 years in Sacramento, CA.
Steph is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary T. Patterson, her brothers, Philip J. Davidson
(Barbara), Larry S. Davidson (Bernadette) and her sister, Susan A. Goodchild. She was preceded in
death by her parents and her sister Norma J. Parr.
Steph was known for her love of travel, infectious laugh and ability to light up any room
she entered. She was an incredibly generous person, and adored her two Westies,
Sparkie and Nicky. She was a beloved wife, sister, aunt to her nieces & nephews,
cousin and friend to many who will sadly miss her.
A rosary, mass and interment will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hayward, CA
on September 24, 2025, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in
her name be made to your local SPCA to honor her love of animals.
As you find your way into the arms of angels, dear Stephie, your light will forever shine
brightly in our hearts.
