Stephanie Marilyn Shawl

SHAWL, STEPHANIE MARILYN, age 84, of Clarkston, passed away January 29, 2024. She was born on January 25, 1940, in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter to the late Floyd and Dorothy Jones (nee Detweiler). Loving wife of the late Durwood; dear mother of Lisa Albertson and Renee (Ron) Sherry; proud grandmother of Sarah (Jake Miller) Kingsley, Luke Albertson, C.J. Sherry, Trevor Sherry, and Griffin (Michaela) Sherry. Stephanie worked as an elementary administrator for Waterford School District for many years. She was a woman of strong character and a deep and abiding faith in God. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time at her vacation home in Harbor Springs, where she loved to ski and spend time at Little Traverse Yacht Club. Stephanie was very artistic and enjoyed basket weaving and sewing, as well as spending time outside gardening. She cherished her time with her family above all and was always ready with a craft project, a game, a puzzle, or a surprise adventure. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with inurnment at White Chapel Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations in Stephanie's name may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
