Stephanie Spond, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on March 21, 1975, in Louisville, Kentucky, Stephanie was the beloved daughter of the late Mike Kidwell and Gerry Stooksbury.

A proud graduate of Fern Creek High School, class of 1993, Stephanie went on to carve out her own path in life. She owned her own cleaning business, a testament to her hard work and dedication. Throughout her career, she lit up every space she entered with her warm smile and infectious laughter, embodying a personality that could undoubtedly lighten up any room.

Stephanie's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her loving children, Kortney Davis (Richard Hampton), Alexis Williams (Emily Williams), Aaron Carman (Angelica Carman), and Linzie Carman, as well as five adoring grandchildren, KaiLeigh, Jaidan, Ki'Leigh, Oaklee, and Paisleigh. Her love extended to her sister, Melissa Evans (Alan), her aunt Bea Meredith, her mother-in-law Dorothy Gadd, and her three nephews. Stephanie cherished her time spent with her beloved cats, Molly and Butterball.

In her spare time, Stephanie found joy in diamond art painting and treasured her experiences at the beach in Florida. She recently enjoyed a memorable trip to Mexico with her family, creating lasting memories and embracing the warmth of familial ties. One of her proudest accomplishments was gaining her independence through her divorce from Robert Spond, a reflection of her strength and resilience.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

The family requests that contributions in Stephanie’s memory be made to family.

Stephanie's kindness, thoughtfulness, and humor will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to stay alive in the hearts of her family and friends.
