Stephanie Ann Nagle Yates was born in Dublin, Ireland on September 9, 1937. She moved to Washington, Dc with her parents, Austen H. Nagle and Ruth Chambers Nagle in 1948. Stephanie was still a citizen of Ireland. She attended Nursing School at Washington Hospital Center. After graduating she worked at the Washington Hospital Center and later with a group of doctors in Silver Spring, MD.

 

She married Bryon Yates on November 23, 1960 at St. James Church in Washington, DC. After a few years of living in Washington they moved to Bowie, MD. Bryon died in 1997. Stephanie is survived by two son, Kevin and Scott, and one grandson, Zach of San Luis Obispo, CA.

 

She was involved with Sweet Adelines belonging to two different choruses, Maryland Sound and Vienna Falls. She was with Vienna Falls when they won the International Competition in 1988. After she retired she joined the Bowie Senior Chorale and the Bowie Sounds of Music.

 

She was involved in various activities at Sacred Heart and St. Pius Roman Catholic Churches in Bowie, MD.

 

She is  remembered for being a dedicated nurse. Also for her many valued friendships and love of music and animals.
