Stephany Debinski, 88, Schofield, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Our House Assisted Living, Wisconsin Rapids, under the care of Moments Hospice.
She was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Poland, the daughter of the late Walenty and Wiktoria (Barnus) Czenczek.
Stephany, her brother Stanley, and her mother endured hardships in her early years. They were exiled from Poland during World War 2 and spent several years in a refuge camp in Africa, then settled in England for a few years before moving to the United States in 1955. Stephany was a very hard worker and enjoyed her job as a custodian in the Prudential high rise in downtown Chicago. Stephany was her mother’s primary caretaker for over 20 years, until her mother’s death in 1998, a responsibility that she took great honor in. She was a very active member of St. Therese Catholic Church and an active member of the Eucharistic Adoration team. She was always active around her house with flowers, cooking, and she had a special skill to mend clothing on her pedal Singer sewing machine. Stephany was always generous and selfless and will be remembered always for her kind soul.
Survivors include her nephews and niece, Stephen (Marcia) Czenczek, Midlothian, Virginia, Christine (Steven) Lee, Mosinee, and James (Kori) Czenczek, Wis. Rapids; six great nieces and nephews, Alexander, Victoria and Elizabeth Czenczek, and Jessica, Jake and Joshua Glenzer-Czenczek. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Stanley.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. The Rev. James Trempe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Knowlton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements.
