Dr. Stephen Allan Bair, a beloved family physician, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, died peacefully in his home in Mesa, AZ, on September 25, 2025, at the age of 82. His life was defined by his dedication to his family and his patients, reflecting the Christ-like love he extended to all.

Stephen was born on January 31, 1943, in Altoona, PA, where he was raised and attended school. Shortly after his high school graduation, his family relocated to Scottsdale, AZ, for his mother's health. Stephen furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. Following this, he attended medical school at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1992 with degrees in General Practice and Family Practice medicine.

Dr. Stephen Bair, D.O., enjoyed a highly successful career spanning 40 years as a family practice doctor in Tempe and Mesa, AZ. Many of his adult patients were babies he had delivered years earlier. He often expressed his joy in his profession by saying, "I go to work to see my friends." For the last seven years of his career, he worked as an employee for Banner Health Care. He was a beloved doctor to his patients and a respected employer to his staff.

Above all, Stephen loved to be with his family. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and set a good example of faith and kindness.

In his leisure time, Dr. Bair enjoyed biking and photography, often developing his own pictures. He also had a passion for automobiles; as his sister fondly quotes, "He loved a good car." He leaves behind many dear friends whom he cherished. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Allan Keith and Judith Bair; his wife, Lonni Le Thompson Bair; and his daughter, Lisa Patricia Bair.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Peterson Bair, and their loving family:

Children and spouses: David & Chandra Bair, Stephanie & David Nibley, Katherine & Justin Riggs, Aaron & Michelle Bair.
Step-sons and spouses: Kevin Wilkins, Kacey & Camille Wilkins, Trever & Katie Wilkins, Logan & Marli Nikolaus.
Grandchildren: 34 beloved grandchildren.
Siblings and spouses: Darryl & Barbara Bair and Jennifer & Darrell Churnesky.
