Stephen Benotti Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shepherd Funeral & Cremation Service on Mar. 19, 2026.
Stephen Louis Benotti, Sr., age 79, of Kingston, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 4, 1946, in Kingston, Steve was the beloved son of Ferdinando and Olga (Guidaboni) Benotti. He attended Silver Lake Regional High School and graduated in 1964. A lifelong resident of Kingston, Steve built not only a career but a legacy as a skilled and dedicated self-employed carpenter for many years. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1971. His sense of duty, strength, and quiet resilience stayed with him throughout his life.

Above all else, Steve was a family man. His greatest joy came from the simple, meaningful moments spent at home-whether it was sharing laughter by the backyard fire, cooling off with a swim, or gathering with those he loved most at his pool house. Later in life, he discovered a love for gardening and spent countless hours each day tending to his large garden with care and pride. He had a deep appreciation for life's quiet blessings and created a home filled with warmth, comfort, and togetherness.

Steve was an avid golfer who found happiness on the course, especially when sharing these moments with his late father, his brother, his sons, and later, grandson. He also enjoyed time with friends participating in multiple golf leagues. Those days were more than just a pastime-they were cherished traditions, filled with stories, laughter, and lasting bonds. Steve was also a longtime member of the Hilltop Athletic Association, where he formed many meaningful friendships.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Constance (MacDonald) Benotti of Kingston, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his life. He is also survived by his sons: Stephen L. Benotti, Jr. and his wife Susanne of Bourne, MA; Peter Benotti of Plymouth, MA; and Anthony Benotti and his wife Suzanne also of Plymouth. He is further survived by his brother, Philip Benotti and his wife Elizabeth of Pembroke, MA.

Steve was a proud and loving grandfather to Tyler Benotti of Watertown, MA, Katelyn Benotti of Bourne, Ashley Doyle and her husband Justin of Plymouth, Daniel Griffin and his wife Michaela of Chattanooga, TN and Jacob Benotti and his wife Jenna of Plymouth. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren-Scarlett, Lilah, Odin, and Roran-who brought him immense pride and joy.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ferdinando and Olga Benotti, as well as his beloved daughter-in-law, Christine Benotti.

Steve will be remembered for his steady presence, his hardworking spirit, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he built, the memories he created, and the love he so freely gave. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

An hour of visitation will take place on Friday, March 27th from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston, with a funeral mass set to take place at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 272 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston.
