Stephen Boros Jr.

Steve Boros, 74, passed away Wednesday night in Deland, FL after a courageous battle with multiple myelomoa. Boros, a native of Flint, Mich who graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in literature, was originally signed by the Detroit Tigers in 1947 and spent 47 years in professional baseball as a player, coach and manager. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by the many he has inspired with his courage, kindness and generosity. He loved writing, literature, golf and working with young people as a mentor. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Stetson University’s Elizabeth Hall Lee Chapel.
