Stephen Douglas Browning Sr., age 68, went peacefully into heaven on January 28th, 2025. Born November 2nd, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Buel and surviving Marjorie Browning (nee Douglas). Devoted husband of Lina "Jane" Browning (nee Gambrel). Loving father of Stephen Douglas (Lindsey) Browning Jr. "Doug", and Elizabeth (Nathan) Swinson "Beth". Beloved Papaw of Avery and Ellie Swinson. Brother to Malcolm, Greg, and Brother-in-law Jim. Preceded in death by his in-laws James and Hazel Gambrel. Also survived by other numerous friends and family.
Steve and Jane have been married 50 years. That commitment alone would show anyone how great and strong of a man, and Father, he was, though there was much more to him. He never backed down from fighting for his family and was always up fo a challenge. His day job was father, but when the kids were in school, he would help GE as a machinist to bring some money in. He grew to be very close with his in-laws, taking James out to go fishing when their schedules aligned.
Steve introduced his children to cars at a young age, and instilled a love of GM in his family. He would bring in a few project cars throughout Beth and Doug's lives, and they would work on restoring them to their former glory. His machinist background helped make him a Jack of all Trades, and a Master of Some, including filling the bellies of his friends and family.
