STEPHEN CHALMERS Obituary
Steve enjoyed life in full color. He was involved in FMCA, loved gathering for darts, rolled with the Road Hogs Motorcycle Club, and could always be found at the 1:00 pm par-three golf group. He wholeheartedly enjoyed the live music at the clubhouse-never missing a chance to tap a toe or settle in with friends-and he was a willing and cheerful participant in every tiki bar crawl along the way. These weren't just activities to Steve; they were moments spent building friendships, laughter, and community. And he valued those friendships deeply.
His final great adventure was one he embraced with curiosity and purpose: sailing.
He considered it his newest and happiest journey.
Steve learned the art of the wind and the water, bought a beautiful sailboat, and set off exploring new horizons side-by-side with Dawn-just as they had lived their entire life together. It was fitting, meaningful, and entirely "Steve" to take on something new with confidence and heart.
Steve is survived by his wife Dawn, his son Jim and daughter Jennifer, grandchildren Brandon, Callan, Dylan, and Connor, and by his sisters Valerie and Diane.
He was a dedicated father, a proud grandfather, and a true friend to those who shared the road, the water, the fairway, or a good night of music with him. He will be deeply missed, but his presence will continue to be felt in the stories, friendships, and laughter he leaves behind.
In honor of Steve's love for sailing, the family invites donations to the Vero Beach Youth Sailing Foundation, helping ensure that young people-especially those who might not otherwise have the chance-can discover the same joy and purpose that sailing brought to him.
