Steve Chipman, through all the years that separated us, it was always a breath of fresh air to get together with you. You were among my closest friends as we were growing up and now, (of course!) I feel such a loss just knowing you're no longer among the living. For all the choices we've made as we've weaved and bobbed through our lives, we live with (and died with, obviously.) I wish things were different, my friend. I will cherish the MANY awesome and hilarious memories we lived and experienced. There will always be a special place in my heart which will be occupied by you. I'd bet the mere utterance of the word "thumb ball" would have evoked a smile and a laugh, "Prune juice yogurt would elicit a belly laugh (it just did for me, though I hadn't even thought the words for many, many years!) My 16th birthday party, singing "Welcome To The Machine" will hopefully bring a smile and a chuckle to everyone who was there and who reads this. If I'm wrong and there actually is some sort of life after our death, I hope you get to meet up with your Dad. I know his passing was hard on you. And if it is indeed the case, then I will hold on to the glimmer of hope that our paths will cross again! Regardless, you are on the journey and my strongest hope is that you are able to Rest In Peace. -Your old friend Gene

There never was nor will there ever be anyone quite like our beloved "Chip". His infectious laugh and spontaneous nature are unmatched. I will consider it both an honor and privilege to have known him as a friend and to be the victim of many a heartfelt grapples. You will be missed...
