Stephen Edward Coffman (Steve) passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Landings of Canton Hills.
Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anne. Other survivors include his sister, Ann Johnston, brother-in-law, John (Linda) Johnson, nephews and nieces, Joe (Wie) Johnston, Mark Johnston, Elizabeth (Phil) VanderKamp, Lee Quinn, Courtney (Trent) Davidson, Audra Deems, Jason (Becky) Teague and Stephen (Kim) Teague; great nephews and nieces, Mark Johnston Jr., Tressa VanderKamp, Mary VanderKamp, Ann Mei Johnston, Whitney (Nic) Sanders, Turner Davidson, Michael Davidson and his faithful caregivers at The Landings.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elizabeth Coffman.
Steve was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 2, 1944, and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Shades Valley High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. Steve was an insurance agent for 50+ years.
Steve was a faithful member of Canton First Methodist Church where he served as an usher for 20 years.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of Canton Golf Club. He never missed a day at the gym.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 4-6 pm at Darby Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Canton First Methodist Church on Thursday, January 16, at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. CR Hill and Rev. Dr. Kenny Ott officiating. Interment will be in the cemetery at Oakman-Ranger United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm. Steve's nephews Joe Johnston, Mark Johnston, Mark Johnston, Jr., Lee Quinn, Trent Davidson and Michael Davidson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Neese, Chuck Tuell, John Dorris, Jimmy Phillips, John Wilson, and Fred Gabourie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Canton First Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.

Steve was a good friend to many of us at the old Milton Country Club. We had some great times together on the golf course as well as at our senior dinners. Anne and family, please accept our deepest condolences. Until we meet again, May Steve RIP. Bob & Nancy Volz
