May he Rest in Peace, I had the privilege to work with Stephen first hand and became one of my Mentors and continued our chats and have enjoyed many Conway Specials. May he Rest in Peace.

I married Stephen Conway's Grandson Bernard. We have Stephen's great grandson Sparrow Conway. I met "Grandpa" Conway while Bernard and I were dating. We went out to lunch just Grandpa and I. At first I was nervous - we had little in common not age/race/status/upbringing. But as anyone whom has met Steve would know - none of that mattered.
Steve genuinely cared about people. He was quick to share his opinion but not because he was judging instead it was because he wanted others to find the same fulfillment he had in his 99 years of life. Yet his wisdom didn't harden him. He was quick with a joke and could/did drink me under the table despite me being almost 70 years younger. He was a true servant leader in both his professional life and to his kids whom he loved more than anything.
While wedding planning, Grandpa Steve seemed to have mixed my number with my fiancé's (his Grandson Bernard). He would often call and after realizing the confusion we would end up in many chats about how great his kids are and what was happening on the latest season of 90 day Fiancé. I don't think he knew how much those conversations met to me but after losing my grandparents young I knew how special they were. He had a very rare way of making everyone feel like they mattered. May he rest in peace.
