Steve Kennedy Daly was born on December 30, 1960, in Charlestown, Nevis, within the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. His father, Samuel Joseph Daly, was an electrician and former policeman, while his mother, Helen Adelaide Daly (formerly Jeffers), served as a dedicated public health nurse. He was the youngest of 10 children but also had an adopted brother as well. Growing up in Nevis with his brothers and sisters, Steve developed a deep love for the island's culture and natural beauty. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, and catching land crabs to sell to visitors. An avid athlete, he loved playing soccer and cricket but also excelled in his studies.
In 1976, midway through his time at Charlestown High School, his mother made the life-changing decision to move with her adolescent children to New York in search of broader educational and career opportunities. With this portion of the family settled in the Bronx, Steve completed high school at Evander Childs. In New York, Steve combined work and study. While working at Hertz Car Rental, he attended the Academy of Aeronautics and earned a certificate in aircraft maintenance-a first step in his lifelong engagement with aviation. During his college years he met his future wife Audrey Angela Doyle, marking the beginning of a partnership that would further shape his life. After receiving a Bachelor's in Science at the New York Institute of Technology they had their first child, Akeem, married and settled in California around 1985.
While rising through the ranks as a Commercial Aircraft Inspector at United Airlines in San Francisco, Steve accumulated enough flight hours and earned his private pilot's license. Steve and Audrey had their second child, Andre in 1989 after purchasing a home in Fremont, California. In 2012, Steve faced an unimaginable challenge after an assault left him in a difficult condition. But with unwavering strength and the loving care of his wife and family, he defied expectations, relearning how to walk and talk-a testament to his resilience. He retired from United Airlines with the title of Sr Manager of Quality Control and lived out the rest of his days in Union City.
On April 30th, 2025 Steve Kennedy Daly passed away at the age of 64.
Steve's passing is preceded by Samuel Joseph Daly, Helen Adelaide Daly and Ralph Daley who he is now reunited with in eternal peace. He is survived by his devoted wife, Audrey Daly, his two sons, Akeem Daly I (Teela) and Andre Daly (Alexia), his five grandchildren, Alana Daly, Jaise Daly, Ameena Daly, Liv Daly, Akeem Daly II, and his siblings, Carl Daley, Victor Daley, Carlisle Daly (Darlene), Judith Powell, Yvonne Daly-Woods (Douglas Coleman), Hughley Daly, Winston Daly (Sindrine), Dr. Kelvin Daly and Reverend Othneil Daly. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends who will miss him dearly.

I´ll always remember how he flew me out to California so I could finally hang out with my cousins, and then flew all of us to New York to be with even more family. That trip meant the world to me. It was one of the only times I got to just be with them all like that. I´ll never forget it.

Rest in peace Uncle Steve. You'll be greatly missed. My favorite memories of you were hanging out in St.Croix and having long basketball conversations. You definitely knew your sports! May the good Lord bless you up in heaven . We love you.

Uncle Steve always had a smile on his face. I remember missing my flight home and being stuck overseas and Uncle Steve came to the rescue. He made sure I got on a flight home and I was appreciative and grateful for the kindness he showed. He did what he could when he could. He is sorely missed by the entire family.

My brother-in-law had the best smile!! He was my driving mentor, the advice he gave me I still use today. Always keep an eye far ahead this would save you lots of time, he would tell me. Throughout the years each time I maneuver in traffic and bypass the slower lanes or accident I would think of him and the time together driving over the Tapanzee bridge. I will miss your smile Steve and all "I love you man".

Uncle Steve, although I did not know you very well, I know from my grandmother and father , as well others who knew you , what a caring , genuine and family oriented person you were and how much you meant to our family and how much you will be missed! I wish I had the opportunity to get to experience you the way everyone else did. But uncle Steve rest in peace and know that you were loved by everyone!

At a pivotal time in my life, when I needed guidance most Uncle Steve taught me how to be a man.
When I arrived in California, I thought I knew what it meant to be a man - act tough, stand tall, never show weakness. But Uncle Steve showed me there´s more to manhood than pride and toughness. He taught me that being a man means showing up when it matters, owning your mistakes, listening more than you speak, and treating people with dignity no matter their background.

He didn´t teach through lectures instead he led by example. Through quiet strength, hard work, and compassion, he redefined manhood for me. I´m a better man today because of the kind of man he was every day. I love you Uncle Steve.
