Stephen Derickson Obituary
He was born on December 19, 1958, in Fort Wayne to Robert and Charlene (Nichter) Derickson.
Stephen worked as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer for numerous companies, including Magnavox, ITT, and GM.
In his free time, Stephen enjoyed spending time outside, especially fishing; growing a large garden; canning; raising and butchering livestock; but, most of all, he enjoyed gathering his family for reunions and family get-togethers.
Stephen was always a very generous man, helping with festivals at Saint Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, and donating regularly to the food bank at Saint Joseph.
He is survived by his sons, Alexander, Nathaniel, and Matthew; his mother, Charlene and siblings, Gary, Gregory, Barbara, and Becky.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad; father, Robert; and sister, Christine Till.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Saint Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11337 US-27, Fort Wayne with calling from 1 p.m. until the start of Mass at 2 p.m. Calling will also be Monday, October 13, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary beginning at 4:45 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to Saint Joseph Hessen Cassel Food Bank.
