Stephen Joseph Diedrich, age 73, passed away on February 1, 2026, at ThedaCare Appleton surrounded by his family. He was born on January 22, 1953, in Appleton to Florian and Marie (Reed) Diedrich. Steve worked as a laborer at the Neenah Foundry for 40 years.
Steve was an avid collector of Beatles memorabilia. He passionately pursued stamps, cards, photos, and albums. In addition, he filled his home with trinkets, doo-dads and décor from Lenox, Christopher Radko and many vintage items as well. A lover of the thrift store, Steve often located many of his prized finds in the various thrift hot spots in the area. Steve enjoyed dancing-though his sisters confess he wasn’t very great at it-but that enjoyment stemmed from his love of all music. He filled his collection of vinyl with music from the 60’s and 70’s.
Steve enjoyed walking in the woods. He often found prizes along the way. He also enjoyed being up north at Pembine where the family would gather for bonfires, swimming, four-wheeling among other things. He loved spending time with his siblings.
Steve is survived by his siblings Colleen Marx, Greg (Joyce) Diedrich, Caroline (Gary) Menting, Tom (Diane) Diedrich, Diane Collins, Connie (Glenn) Hietpas, Christy (Cath Davis) Diedrich, and sister-in-law Sandie Diedrich. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Florian and Marie, brother Vince Diedrich, brothers-in-law Chuck Marx and Greg Collins.
We would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at ThedaCare Appleton for all their help and compassion.
We love you Steve!
There will be a celebration of life in the spring of 2026.
