I just heard about Steve´s passing today. I met Steve in 1979 when I went to work at LFE Corporation. I quickly learned to rely on Steve when I needed expert advice on gauging or our customers´ processes.

16 years later, I was hired by LFE to "replace" Steve, who had decided to retire. That was an impossible task that I was given, because nobody I knew had the knowledge and experience that Steve possessed. But I needn´t have worried, because Steve was always there and ready to take my call and answer any question, whether it be of an obscure process control issue, or a query about some of the oldest equipment LFE had made.

I learned of one other skill that Steve possessed through direct experience. We were attending a trade show in the Midwest, and the hotel we were all staying at had a pool table in the bar. We were playing a friendly game, when Steve walked in and offered to play the winner. He spent the next couple of hours showing us all how a pro pool player plays and acts. Lesson learned.

Steve, you were, and will continue to be missed.
