we were talking about music while in an engineering class at OSU and Steven drew this picture in less than 5 minutes. 7 years later I used it on my band´s first release (remember cassettes?) I got to go to their wedding, visit them in Chicago, and recently connected with other friends on zoom. Many memories. We will miss you!

To the Fisher family - I am so sorry for your loss.

I worked for Steve for a few years in Naperville and then alongside of him for several more before I retired in 2016. I remember many of our conversations with fondness.

He was always a driven, hard worker and very intelligent at problem solving. He was also a friend who would listen with compassion and was always available to help people with any problem both inside and outside the workplace.

My condolences for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve during the BP/Amoco merger. Coming from the BP side of that event, I was heartened by the warmth and friendship Steve welcomed the BP commercial folks with.

He always had a smile on his face. We had many debates, he loved them! He was a wizard with knowing where the value of an investment. But even more than all this, he loves working with people to solve problems.

What an amazing soul. He will be missed.

To the Fisher family - I am so sorry for your loss. Roy and I thank you for sharing Steve with us. He always beamed with pride as he spoke of you!

My husband (H) and I met Steve through literacy DuPage as he worked with H once or twice a week for over 3.5 years on reading and writing English; always making H feel like he was doing so good, and showering him with endless complements, building his confidence and making him want to keep going.

Steve had the patience of a saint and was so generous, kind, compassionate, with such a warm and welcoming smile. Always willing to lend a hand and help. He took interest to find out what was needed and then made a plan for success. Steve made you feel like he had all the time the world for you. In addition to helping with reading and writing, he helped H study for his drivers permit test, took him driving, helped him look for a used car, helped him study for the immigration test, dropped teaching items off at our home, bought books from H´s home country..... Steve was such a wonderful advocate for H working towards a better life and was such a blessing to us!

H won a state of Illinois literacy award due to Steve´s amazing commitment to helping make it happen. Steve drove all the way down to Springfield, just to attend H´s award ceremony, and then drove back the same day. Steve was beyond generous with his time and attention to others success. I loved hearing the interesting stories Steve he shared from his vast experiences and travels around the world. His stories focused on something special about the culture and the people he met.

H lost his dad at 8 years old. When I told H of Steve´s passing, he said it felt like he lost his father, as Steve was so supportive, encouraging, and resourceful in helping my husband grow in so many fundamental ways. Steve´s warm smile, and uplifting energy, and weekly meetings will be missed. H and I are both better people from all the teachings, and just being exposed to who "Steve" was - he led by example. Steve´s goodness will always stay with us in our hearts and memories.

One Love with Gratitude,
Kate (wife of Roy Blake)

So sorry to hear of your loss of Stephen. I was so appreciative to have someone from my family near Chicago when I was seeking a place to live back in 2013. Seems like forever ago now. My prayers and thoughts are with you Susie and your family.

Steve and I worked together for many years at Amoco then BP Technology in Naperville. Steve was always a high-energy person with a can-do attitude. I enjoyed working with Steve and valued his technical insights into any problem that we encountered. My condolences to the Fisher family.

I worked with Steve for many years at BP/Amoco. He was a wonderful colleague. He was open and friendly. He could understand the basics of a given problem or challenge, and communicate it in an inclusive manner. The debates around these questions were always fun. I cherish the memories of working in our work group with him.

I remember my wife and I living next door to Steve and Suzie and realizing that we shared the same wedding date. We quickly got to know them and spent a lot of time with their family. We celebrated the arrival of all of their kids, went to concerts in the park, cooked out in each other's backyards, celebrated completion of large projects and generally lived life together. But with the good comes the sad. Six years ago we moved to Virginia and we said "until we meat again". Now it will be different. May we all remember the kind times we all shared.
