Stephen Gergel Obituary
Gergel, Stephen J., 92, of Jacksonville, FL formerly of Mount Union, passed away July 22, 2024, in Florida. Born October 28, 1931, Mount Union, son of the late Michael and Agnes (Kuflick) Gergel. Surviving is his sister Helen Black and several nieces and nephews. He retired as an Lieutenant from the United States Navy after 25 years of service. Stephen loved to work outside and had dedicated his life to serving his community, country, and helping the poor. Friends and family will be received from 6p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Heath – Anderson Funeral Home, Mount Union. Interment will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11a.m. at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Shirleysburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
