Stephen M. Haffner August 25, 1950 – October 26, 2025
Stephen M. Haffner, 75, of Westport, Connecticut, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born in New Rochelle, New York, on August 25, 1950, Stephen was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Gordon) Haffner. A proud graduate of Port Chester High School, Class of 1968, Stephen went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Boston University. Following in his father's footsteps, he joined the family accounting firm and later took over the business, which he successfully ran for many years before his retirement.
In his younger years, Stephen enjoyed playing baseball, traveling the world, and immersing himself in the arts. He was known for his quick wit, sharp intelligence, and boundless generosity-qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Stephen had a wonderful sense of humor and an easy charm that made everyone around him feel at ease.
Above all, Stephen was a devoted and loving father. His daughters were the center of his world, and he took immense pride and joy in their lives and accomplishments. He cherished every moment spent with his family, whether sharing laughter, life lessons, or simply being present with those he loved most.
Stephen is survived by his devoted children, Caroline Haffner and her husband, Ryan Fairhurst, and Casey Haffner and her husband, Bronco Pavlin, all of Milford, Connecticut; his adored grandchildren, Harper Fairhurst and Ava Pavlin, also of Milford; and his dear sisters, Joan Haffner of Nyack, New York, and Barbara Haffner of Boynton Beach, Florida. He was predeceased by his beloved sisters, Susan Haffner of Berkeley, California, and Margie O'Hora of Stony Point, New York.
Stephen will be remembered as an extraordinary father, a loyal friend, and a man whose humor, warmth, and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
