Stephen E. Hardman

Stephen E. Hardman, age 46 of Franklin, Indiana passed away on Monday morning, December 29, 2025.

In accordance with Steve's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

Steve was born on March 8, 1979 in Indianapolis, a son of LeeRoy and Billie (White) Hardman. 

He was married to Victoria "Vicki" Hardman. Vicki preceded him in death on September 21, 2024.

Steve was the youngest of four children.  He is survived by his older three siblings: Shad (wife Delane) Hardman of Washington State, Samuel (wife Dawn) Hardman of Clayton, IN and Lisa (husband Richard) Wethington of Clayton, IN.

Two sons: Sebastian Hardman-Parks of Indianapolis, and Donald Payne Jr. of Indianapolis.

Many nieces, nephews, other family members and relatives survive.

In addition to his parents and wife, Steve is preceded in death by one son: Zachary Vansickle.

Steve grew up in Indianapolis on the west side.  He graduated from Ben Davis High School in the class of 1997.

Throughout his working and professional career he worked in HVAC and was very skilled in his craft and work.  He later started his own LLC Hardman Heating and Cooling while continuing to work at Ferrar Mechanical Services.  He was always the hardest working person in the room. 

Outside of work Steve enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and working outside in general. 

Over the years he loved spending time in Michigan as well as the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. 

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Steve's life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221.

After the service, everyone is welcome to stay to gather and continue to celebrate Steve's life.
