On Monday afternoon, December 15th, 2025, Mr. Stephen Layton Harward left his mother’s womb and was graciously received into the arms of Jesus.
This precious little boy was named after family, but his name also comes from the Bible. When thinking of his name, his family recalls the story of Stephen. Stephen was being stoned and when he looked up, he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. So, baby Stephen left the most comfortable place on earth, his mother’s womb, and went straight into the protecting, loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Stephen’s sweet memory will be cherished by his parents, Nicolas & Mary Harward; his siblings, William Harward and Viviane Harward; maternal grandparents, Craig & Angela Hitson; and paternal grandparents, Michael (Christi) Harward and Christy Heavner.
Family and friends will gather at 11 o’clock on Saturday morning, December 20th, 2025, at New Providence Baptist Church to give thanks to God for this precious life. Pastor Cliff Leonard will officiate with a committal following in the church cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service at the graveside.
Norton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be with the Harward family during this time.
