Stephen Edward Kapish, commonly known as "Superman," passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2026 at the young age of 57 years old. Steve was born on January 27, 1968, in
Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late Joan and Robert Kapish and a loving brother to six siblings. Throughout his life, Steve lived in Ohio, California, Texas, and Florida, where he resided for nearly 40 years. As a boy, he earned the nickname "Tarzan" for his joyful energy, adventurous heart, and his love of fun. He channeled that spirit into cross country and soccer, where his passion for teamwork and movement first took root. Steve then graduated from Coral Springs High School in 1987 then attended Atlantic Technical College in Coconut Creek, Florida. He devoted 20 years as a Water Treatment Technician and held other positions as well for the Broward County school system where his dedication, humor and warmth left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends.
Steve married Susie in 2020 and together they share five children. Steve was a faithful member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to gun ranges, riding his motorcycle, fishing, kayaking, and creating joyful memories with family and loved ones. Steve took pride in completing projects around his home, which he officially named "The Lone Star Ranch." He was an outdoorsman at heart and a Country music enthusiast. He also enjoyed playing board games, especially Aggravation. Steve will be remembered as a heartfelt man, often bellowing his iconic laugh, dancing around crowds, and sharing his sincere and fun-loving personality with others. Steve will be missed dearly by his family and friends and all who knew him.
Steve leaves his wife, Souzana Kapish and his children, Connie Kapish (Kyle De Mik), John Kapish, Regina Singh, Ajay Kapish and Crystal Kapish and his siblings, Michael Kapish, Thomas Kapish (Sandy Kapish), Robert Kapish (Jhoanna Kapish), Christopher Kapish (Lynne Kapish), Victor Kapish (Haydee Kapish), Virginia Flaster (Ronald Flaster, MD),12 nieces and nephews and 5 cousins to cherish his loving memory.
A viewing will be held on January 10, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Palm Royale Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 6790 Vanderbilt Beach Road,
Naples, Florida 34119. Following the viewing, a funeral Mass will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Road,
Naples, Florida 34120. A reception will be held immediately afterward from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Saint Agnes Parish Center, located nearby. Flowers, donations, and condolences are greatly appreciated and may be arranged through Palm Royale Funeral Home and Cemetery.
