Stephen M. Kelley, 70 of Melrose, MA passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2024, after battling multiple illnesses. Steve, a loving father, was born on August 8th, 1953, in Burlington, Vermont, to parents Robert and Elizabeth (Mills) Kelley.
Steve graduated from Rice Memorial High School in 1971 and Vermont Technical College, graduating with a Computer Engineer degree.
Prior to his illness, Steve spent many years working for the North Reading School district, where he enjoyed teaching elementary computer classes and aiding in the children's education. Steve was an avid runner, completing many marathons and running events over the years. He enjoyed watching and playing sports and going on outdoor adventures with his kids. He had a passion for all types of music, but The Beatles and Paul McCartney were among his favorite artists.
Steve is survived by his children, Evan and wife Hannah (Cohen) Kelley, Rebecca Kelley and fiancé Tyler Capasso, his niece and nephew Caitlyn and Jonathan Battaglia, his sister Patricia (Kelley) Brosseau, his granddaughter, Raina June Kelley, and more nieces/nephews.
Steve was predeceased by his parents Robert (Rod) and Elizabeth (Bette) Kelley, his brothers Douglas (Doug) and Robert Jr. (Bobby), also by his brother-in-law, Roger (Tadge) Brosseau.
Steve loved working at the North Reading schools. The family asks that acts of sympathy be done in the form of a donation to the "Former Students of Batchelder School Scholarship." Checks can be made out to "L.D. Batchelder School" with memo "Scholarship Fund" and mailed to:
