Stephen P. Knoll

Stephen P. Knoll, age 73, of Waterford, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at AHN St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Erie on November 24, 1952, the son of the late George and Harriet Lutterbaugh Knoll.

Stephen was a graduate of the former Tech Memorial High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War where he served as a reporter.

He was employed by R.R. Donnelley commercial printing company for many years prior to his retirement. Previously he was employed by Bowne & Co. and Pandick Press, Inc. Stephen had an abiding love of history and enjoyed reading, watching movies and his daily walks along Presque Isle. He will be lovingly remembered for his irreverent humor, sarcasm, and wit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Knoll and two grandchildren, Michael Rea and infant granddaughter Fickle.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen I. (Gannon) Knoll; four daughters: Kerry Fickle (Bryan), Katy Anderson (Michael), April Dalton, and Andrea Knoll (Vilius); one son, J. Michael Nagorsky (Lisa); three siblings: Margaret "Peg" Regruth, Ann Knoll, and Michael Knoll (Marilyn); 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
