Stephen “Steve” Grant Logan Sr., 74, of Odessa, TX was reunited with his daughter and welcomed into Heaven on November 25, 2023 surrounded by his beloved family. Steve was born on October 1, 1949 to U.G. and Rosetta (Norman) Logan in Wynnewood, OK. As a young boy his family lived in various states including Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alaska, before settling in El Paso, TX. It was there that Steve began his own family with Rose Sherbon and in 1976 they moved to Odessa, TX. Steve and Rose later divorced but remained close friends, raising their children and celebrating holidays as a family. He then devoted 40 years of marriage to second wife Tina Logan. Steve was a handy man at heart and worked in various maintenance roles until he retired in 2014.
Steve loved the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, Nascar, fishing, music, playing guitar, westerns, and most of all his family. Strong willed, ornery, but also charming and kind; Steve presented a rough exterior, but his love was shown through his generous heart. He was always willing to help those in need, and his home had a revolving door throughout the years. Never turning away a family member or friend that needed a place to lay their head and call home. Later in his life, Steve made it a point to let his loved ones know just how much they meant to him.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, U.G. and Rosetta Logan; daughter, Christina Warden; and nephew, Billy Phillips.
Those left to cherish Steve’s memory are his son, Stephen “Stevie” Grant Logan Jr. of Odessa and daughter, Shawna and husband Darren Farrill of Odessa. Sisters: Loretta Belknap and Becky Heald both of Odessa. Grandchildren: Alicia and husband Johnny Rey, Cody Logan and wife Ashley, Michael Smith and wife Amanda, Meagan and husband Dawson Parker, Tyler Logan and wife Megan, Joshua Farrill and wife Kendra, Kaleb Logan, Lacie Logan and Fiancé Matt Meeks, Jaicelyn Farrill, and Landon Walker; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Cody Logan, Michael Smith, Tyler Logan, Joshua Farrill, Landon Walker, Mason Logan, Jason Anderson, and Sammy Rey.
Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Belknap, Bentley Logan, Haiden Parker, and Kason Parker.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa, TX.
