I am so sorry to have read that my cousin Steve has passed away. Our mothers were sisters, and Steve had that side of the family's ability to respond to life's absurdities with a hearty laugh. I have so many childhood memories. He was my friend - with a good heart. While I only saw him occasionally as adults, it was always good to see him with John. It seemed they had such a deep and lasting relationship. My best thoughts go with you

It was a rare honor and pleasure to have met Stephen. The moment we met him he embraced us with a tight and warm hug. Instantly one felt his effervescent and gregarious personality embrace and welcome you unconditionally! We enjoyed hearing his stories of all his extensive travels, and especially personal anecdotes about special mementos at his home. I personally felt connected to Stephen because of having been raised in the Midwest. I feel that his huge and generous heart, intellectual brilliance, compassion and his easygoing, approachable demeanor were such rare gems to possess all in one special human being! We feel so truly blessed to have met Stephen, and known him if only for such a short time as their neighbors in Palm Springs.

I only met Stephen a few times at PTOD activities but remember him as a kind and helpful gentlemen. It's always sad to read about fellow PTOD members passing.

Steve was wonderful in so warmly welcoming anyone. he was charmingly kind and Christlike to strangers, like me. he took a genuine interest in people. And was a good raconteur about the many trips he had taken and had planned. his partner mirrored his goodness. he will be remembered and missed!

Your hugs will forever be with me. There was something wonderfully loving about them, a feeling of being protected. You will be sorely missed by everyone, yet, we will all be together again.
