Stephen Marushan

Hawthorne - Marushan, Stephen, age 96, of Hawthorne, on Monday, June 28, 2021. Born in New York City, Stephen had lived in Hawthorne since 1954. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his service, Stephen worked as a machinist for Van Vlanderen Machine and then for school security in Ridgewood. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church in Hawthorne. Stephen was an avid fan of Broadway shows and enjoyed many cruises. He also regularly attended lunch with his friends at the Midland Park Senior Center

Stephen was the beloved husband of the late Anna (nee: Duda) Marushan (1998). Loving father of Susan Speranza of Hawthorne, Dennis Marushan and his wife Linda of Highland Lakes, NJ, and Lori Bellusci and her husband Eugene Bellusci, Jr. of Stockholm, NJ. Dear grandfather of Vincent Speranza, Jasen Bellusci, Danielle Marushan and the late Nicholas Speranza (2020). Dearest brother of the late John Marushan and the late Olga Marushan. Stephen is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will depart at 9am on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne for a 9:30am funeral mass at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8pm.
