One of my favorite classmates since 1965 when we were in the same 10 man squad the 1st day at West Point. We were together in the same Airborne, Ranger, and Infantry schools. Steve was the only one with me the night at Ft Benning I wrecked my 69 corvette. We played golf together in FL, TX, CO, and MT. I have been truly blessed to have Steve as a Classmate and Friend. Will miss you Buddy.

MAGOO was the man! I golfed with him in November after not seeing him for a long while. It was like we golfed together every week... Love you, man! Your West Point 69 brother for ever!

Just heard the sad news. Steve lived across the street in Northbrook when he moved to Chicago after Grad school. I graduated from USAFA the same. Year & our two families became fast friends. Best canoe trip ever down the Wisconsin River in 1977. Picture attached. We lost touch but will always remember the great times in those early days.

What a loss! My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Julie and the children and grandchildren.

Steve was my best friend at West Point. We had numerous adventures, including hitch hiking and taking military planes (standby) across the US in our cadet uniforms during a summer leave. We made it to Indiana, Oklahoma, San Francisco and Washington D.C.

We reunited last year in April and November for 6 glorious days of golf. Steve was a great chipper of the golf ball, but he lacked in driving and putting ;)

He was so proud of Julie and her recent book publication. He regularly said he married above his pay grade (military speak for he loved her immensely).

He was so proud of his children and went into great detail with me about their careers and families.

Steve was larger than life and will be dearly missed. He was a good, generous friend and loyal classmate.
