Stephen Craig Meadows was born May 22nd, 1948. He got his angel wings Sunday morning March 23rd, at his home surrounded by his family and his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Stephen Meadows, his brother Thomas Ervin Meadows, and his parents Jimmy and Mary Carol Meadows.
He will be so greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Linda. They had their first date in the fall of 1964. He told her mom then that he was going to marry her, and she replied "No, she doesn't even like you." Also missing him will be his son Cris (Missa) Meadows, daughter Mika Meadows, granddaughters Gracie Gumm and Mia Cline, grandsons Sean (Vee) Meadows, Nash Meadows, and Cy Gumm, great grandson Raylon Meadows, sister-in-law Janet O. McClung, niece Kaylee McClung, sister Lynn (Philip) Gwinn, niece Paige Gwinn, nephew Philip (Sherri) Gwinn and Harrison. He also loved his cousins Joe and Greg Ball, Carol Lea Crawford, Paula Thurston, Michael Eubank, and Ann Shiflett
Steve owned and operated the E.M. Meadows Funeral Home, which is now Pivont Funeral Home. He coached Little League Baseball (Moose) and Girls Softball. He loved playing on the Fireeaters baseball team, and Concord College. Hunting and fishing were his favorite things to do. Steve ran the gross anatomy lab at WVSOM for 13 years before retiring to build their dream log home. Lastly, he was Mr. Fix It to his grandkids and his wife who seems to always break stuff.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Roles Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Forest Hill, WV with Pastors Bobby McClintic and Buck Caldwell officiating. There will be a procession leaving Pivont Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Friday for those wishing to attend the service or attendees are asked to meet at the cemetery.
