I was a neighbor of Steve for fifteen years and also worked with his wife, Deb, for years at ServiceMaster as well. Steve was truly one of the kindest, friendliest person I have known and my life was enriched from knowing him. I also by chance, attended a rival junior high and high school of his in the Columbus, Ohio area and will never forget our great conversations about us playing sports against each other's school. I am so sad to hear the world has lost such a great human being and my prayers are with his Soul and for comfort for Deb, Matt and the rest of his family.

I was so incredibly sad to hear this news. I am Fred Landig's wife, childhood friend of SteveO (as Fred always referred to him as). He spoke of SteveO often when reminiscing about his childhood. He played sports with him and always had such great memories. When Fred was diagnosed with cancer he wanted to try to come to Chicago to see Steve but with all the treatments he was going through, time just slipped by too fast. We lost Fred in January, 2024 to lung cancer.

My initial thought after sadness swept over me (grief of a spouse is so incredibly hard) was wondering if they've caught up in heaven yet and started to play baseball and basketball together. I smile to think they have caught up.

Please accept my sincerest condolences. Deb, I know we haven't met, but you are welcome to reach out to me at any time, as I have been attempting to manage this new path for 2 years and always appreciate someone to talk to going through the same thing.

Thinking of you all during this time.
