Stephen "Corky" Olson age 73, of Wadena, died at his home on Sunday, March 24, 2024
A private committal service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in French Lake.
Stephen Arthur Olson was born July 31, 1950 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Verne and Veronica (Valastek) Olson. He grew up in Brooklyn Center and graduated from Osseo High School in Osseo, Minnesota. He then attended the University of Minnesota graduating with honors with a degree in Horticulture and Food Management.
Stephen was a proud volunteer at various organizations including the VA, churches, libraries, and schools where his selflessness and generosity shone brightly. He was a big supporter of Camp Courage and spent many summers volunteering there.
Away from his volunteer work, Stephen found solace in cooking and sharing meals with loved ones, as well as tending to his flourishing garden, where his love for nature and life's simple pleasures was evident. He also enjoyed spending the time he could with his nieces and nephews.
Stephen is survived by brothers, Verne of Delano, and Keith of Buffalo; sisters, Toni Sienko of Lake Mills, WI and Kathy (Mike) Moran of Bloomington; brother-in-law Alan Carlson of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Shirl Carlson; sister-in-law Chris Olson; and two infant brothers Gregory and Scottie.
