Steve was my closest friend in the class of '85 of COMS in Des Moines. I often regretted losing track of him in the pre-internet world. He was my lab partner in 1st year anatomy dissection. We often went running together down Grand Ave over lunch hour between classes. He taught me how to hit a heavy bag and how to wrap my hands for boxing.

i ended up owning a paint stallion while working on Pine Ridge Lakota reservation for 11 years and then married to a horse lover. We had a lot in common. 38 years later i am stilll in practice and still running every day (slowly).
i am very sorry i only now heard of his passing. My belated condolences.

I was shocked to learn of Steve's death. One of my longest friends from USAFA. He will always be remembered by the 38 Allstars. My prayers are with you and the family.
