Stephen Wayne Redman was 47 years old, he had spent more than 20 years in the Cleveland area but his heart was always in the land of cheese. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on September 3, 1969 and grew up in Frederick, Wisconsin. Steve died unexpectedly at home on March 3, 2017. Steve had just started a new job working as a regional engineer for the American Concrete Pipe Association. Prior to that he spent time as a design engineer, and doing technical sales and business development, all within the construction field. Steve earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and master's degree in structural engineering both from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Steve loved the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers football, baseball, golf, and having a beer with his friends. He witnessed the Packers winning two Super Bowls, cheered the Badgers to six Rose Bowls and the Cleveland Indians to three World Series, and he personally watched the Marquette Golden Eagles make a final four appearance. He grew to love the game of soccer along with his sons; he spent many hours watching, coaching, and working closely with the Avon Lake Soccer Organization. Steve was the youngest in his family. He had two sisters. His oldest sister, Theresa lives in Dallas with her husband, Charles, and Linda lives in La Crosse, Wisconsin with her husband, John. Between the two of them, they gave Steve ten nieces and nephews. Steve's mother Arla, 81, also lives in La Crosse. His father, Wayne, was born October 14, 1933 and died May 10, 2013. Steve was incredibly proud of his two sons, Henry, 20, who attends Loyola University Chicago studying journalism, and Sam, 18, who will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall to study engineering. They were the joy of his life because, above all, Steve was a family man. Steve recently celebrated a joyful 25th anniversary with his wife, Laura Pecot Redman. The two met at Marquette when he was an RA and she was a dorm desk manager. Steve used to say that he passed Laura every day until one day he couldn't pass her anymore. They've never stopped enjoying life as a couple since. From ski trips and soccer games to camping trips to family beach vacations to just hanging out on summer nights with friends Sam and Brad, soaking their feet in the baby pool on the driveway, Steve and Laura knew how to have fun together. Steve was the kind of man who could talk to anyone and within minutes they would be friends. This is clearly evident in the outpouring of love and support from the Avon Lake community. Steve will always be remembered for his kind heart, his large smile, and for the way he confidently threw himself into life's opportunities. Rest in Peace, Steve. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a college trust fund for Henry and Sam. I know this is late but I'm saddened and shocked to have just learned of Steve's passing. Steve was my Co-RA at Marquette University's McCormick Hall in 1988-89. I was witness to Steve and Laura's first dating and watched as their love for one another grew, in their time at Marquette. Their love for one another was their bond. My thoughts and prayers go out to Laura, Henry, and Sam during these difficult days. Just know that he will never be forgotten.

We're keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers at this time and celebrating a life well lived. We were neighbors in the Frederic community and knew Steve pretty much through his high school years. He then attended Marquette University at the same time as our two sons in the mid eighties. He was a friend on Facebook and happily we got to know his family in that way.

I am so heartbroken over the loss of Steve. He was a classmate and we were able to catch up on life at our class reunion a few years ago. I am so grateful his classmates got to spend that time with him. He was all smiles and so genuine. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of his family, friends, and community.
