Alyce Dian McGinnis Newton

Dian Newton, 83, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025 at Stanley Total Living Center. She was born in Gaston County on November 15, 1942, to the late Carl Herman McGinnis and Margaret Cecelia Rhodes McGinnis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Ellen McGinnis.
Dian was a member of the Dallas High School and Salutatorian of her Class of 1961. She graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. For 30 years she worked in nursing at Gaston Memorial Hospital and other various private practices.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith Newton (Angela) and Eric Newton (Susan); sisters, Charlotte Jenkins (Ray), Carla McMahan (Michael), and brother Tony McGinnis . She leaves behind six grandchildren, Stephanie Vogle, Trey Ridge (Nikki), Maggie Newton, Jason Newton (Amanda), Stacie Blanco (Julio) and Sydney Newton; eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at 2pm on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Philadelphia Lutheran Church, Dallas, NC. Memorial Service will follow at 3pm with Pastor Shea Berbaum officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Stanley Total Living Center and TerraBella of Cramerton for their love and care for Dian over the past several years.
