We know that time never erases the pain and loss of losing someone so dear to our hearts. Our hearts truly go out to you and I know that each day is hard, but I also know that God is more powerful than our hearts. Please pray to Him for strength and direction to make it through each day. What a beautiful photo! A picture is worth a thousand words, and these photos say a thousand times that Mr. Sarafolean was a happy man full of life and full of love. Please mediate on those beautiful memories to help you.

Those we love left us with gifts in the form of memories that no one can take away. They gave us wisdom that we can still recall, companionship when we were alone, comfort when we needed it, and memories of their laughter and smile. These are gifts of love that are ours to keep. Though I do not know the family, I would like to extend my condolences. May the tender mercy that God has always shown be with your family now so that you will know that you are not alone. And may the prayers of others help in some small way to bring you strength, comfort and courage each day. Many words will be expressed, yet we know God can express and provide to you and your family everything that is needed to care and sustain your hearts. - Isaiah 41:10 & 13.

Steve was richly blessed by his God and in turn was a great blessing to a large company of family, Marines, fellow church members, many friends and acquaintances. Sally and I were privileged to know Steve along with Bev, Nancy and Cynthia for a brief year in 1978-79. He surprised us with a visit to our home in Cloquet, MN, greeted us warmly when we visited LA in 1985, kept in touch and took us to dinner while at a Marine unit reunion near our present home in Omaha. We were always so impressed with his outgoing friendliness and warm personality, his love for God and everyone around him. As painful it is to say good-bye to Steve for now, we live in hope that all who loved Steve in this life and all whom he touched will see him again in heaven along with all who love God and trust in His promises of salvation from punishment for all wrongs, even death, to eternal life, won for all by Jesus our Savior and Good Shepherd who lived and died to redeem all people, rose again to eternal life, and invites all to share life eternal by relying on Him to bring you there. That was the faith by which Steve lived, which gives us confidence that Steve has been taken to the joyous eternal home that is promised. May we all see him there!

Steve was my neighbor, friend and once my landlord. One time, several years ago, Steve came to the hospital where I worked for a radiology test. I told the tech who was to do his exam that he was my landlord. Steve came for the test in his usual attire of flip flops, shorts, a Hawaiian shirt and that great tan. After the test my coworker said, "Wow, that is your landlord? He sure is a cool dude." That he was, one cool dude.

Steve will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Some of my favorite memories are catching my first foul ball while using 'his' Dodger tickets and the long winter weekends spent at his Lake Arrowhead home. Thanks for being a friend Steve.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know not only a great uncle but a great man! The influence he had not only on me but on my daughter will be treasured and appreciated for the remainder of my life!
When Megan and I visited, we were always welcomed and given a place to stay while in LA. We were also treated to a breakfast or dinner at Nats, Norms, or Chips while visiting. I would always try to pick up the bill, but Uncle Steve would not allow it! I even went to the extreme of giving the waitress money before we ordered, but I was always found out!
Uncle Steve's genuine kindness and concern for others was so welcomed. I thank God for allowing this man to touch my life in so many ways!

I will treasure the years I had with my grandpa. I remember him making time go by faster in church when I was young by rubbing my fingers. I always wanted to sit next to him to get my hand massaged. I will always be grateful for our vacations to the mountains, Palm Desert and especially the cruises. I'm very glad I got to spend time with him in July and hear about his life and his love for his family. I know he loved Jesus and I'll see him again some day. I love you Grandpa!

One of my most favorite memories of my father-in-law, Steve, was when he surprised my daughter Beth by coming to her wedding in TN. and seeing her expression of ultimate joy at the sight of her Grandpa being there. It really touched my heart.

One of my best memories with my dad was last September when he decided on a whim to drive to go visit his sister, Sophie, in Denver. He told me on a Saturday that he was leaving the next day. I was concerned for him to drive all that way alone and told him that Toni and I would drive there with him and to pick us up the next day. (That was my sneaky way of getting him to my house so thatI could take my big van and actually drive him there.)
We spent many hours in the car there and back, and we talked about everything in his life. He shared so openly about many things I had never heard him talk about before, and answered many of my questions very honestly. It was a great time. Toni miraculously never cried the whole drive, we all enjoyed the beautiful scenery and visiting with Auntie Sophie was so fun because we had a geat time looking through all of her photos and hearing stories from many years ago.
He was so mad at me when I wouldn't give the driving responsibilities to him, but when we actually go near to Aspen, and the high altitude really threw off his strength level, he told me he was glad thatI was there with him. That week will always be very special to me.
I am blessed to have been born into this God-fearing family and I will always treasure all of the the times I got to spend with my dad.

Bev,
I received news of Steve's passing today and I'm in total shock. I am so, so very sorry for your loss - and it is a great loss.
Steve was a warm, gentle and very thoughtful man. I'll never forget that he was the first member from the Good Shepherd Church family to call me by my first name. He was my very favorite gentleman at Good Shepherd and I told him that everytime I saw him; and when he smiled, it just warmed my heart. He will be missed.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because he happend. What a wonderful, kind gentleman - Steve Sarafolean!

I was so sorry to hear about Steve. My thoughts are certainly with you, Bev. I remember the good times we (Monte and all of us) had in our much younger days (especially one establishment that didn't appreciate our patronage). Steve was a good guy and will be missed by many. Your memories will give you much comfort as the days come and go. God bless the entire family.
