This must be an especially hard time for you, given the stresses already going on in the world right now. I am sending love and hugs and remembrances of Stephen as the gentle soul he was. Fellow Ole- Linda B.

I found the photo of Steve and I in October of 2013 while on a walk in the foothills of CA...

I was worried when Steve didn't email me back in June, and several other times. I just now discovered that he had passed away in March. I'm so so sorry for your loss. What a great guy. As a fellow Ole, I had gone to visit him in CA in 2013. We had been in touch because we both loved hiking, etc. We took a walk that day up into the foothills. It was extremely windy. I'll look for those photos to post. What a gift that I got to see him that final time! With love...Linda Bold

I have known Steve for 16 years since 2009. When he first joined Aprisa as the web master and chief editor for the marketing department, I was the VP - Engineering then. The Steve I knew was good at writing. He was always pleasant to talk to and was always willing to give a helping hand. Unfortunately that Aprisa has gone under in 2002 so Steve and I both went our way. I started GreenSoft in September 2002 and got a chance of needing someone in 2007 to help in editing our quality manual. Raja and I discussed and we decided to contact Steve. Thats where we got together again in GreenSoft.

Steve has been instrumental in growing our business. He has been our only sales and only marketing person for 6 years, and has grown our business from almost nothing after the financial crisis in 2009 to the one today with 120 employees worldwide. He was fun to talk to, and always energetic in making friends and making deals. Everyone in the office love him and all his customers love him as well. He has left such a significant footprint inside GreenSoft.

March and April are both heavy for me as I lost my dad on March 28, and then Steve on March 31. I have been in Taiwan for family events for almost the full month of April and I could not come attend Steve's service according to our tradition. I know he will be missed and his pleasant and caring image will stay with us forever. Rest in peace, my brother.

Dear Schonebaum Family

I attended Steve's memorial service on Friday and I'm very glad I did. I was one of five high school choir friends present. However, I regret that I didn't introduce myself to you all and offer my condolences. I don't think I ever met any of you when Steve and I were in high school.

The last time I saw and spoke with Steve was 30 years ago. Although we didn't remain in contact, I've always remembered Steve for his fun personality, kindness and humility. While a lot of people are fun and kind, few have the humility that Steve had. I learned from Steve and have tried to incorporate his humility in my life.

I enjoyed hearing on Friday that Steve lived a full and joyful life. I liked hearing JP talk of Steve's humility. These were indications that Steve carried with him his whole life the traits that I admired so much back in high school.

I wish for you all comfort in your time of loss.

Respectfully,

April 5, 2016

We will sincerely miss visiting with Steve while standing outside on Paragon Ave. when he was visiting from California. He was the single, adventurous, California guy, and we were the married, working parents in Minnesota! HA!! We got to live vicariously through his backpacking and cycling stories. And each time we saw him, we felt like we also got to see a little glimpse of Bill, as he reminded us a great deal of his dad.

He was a wonderful, kind, funny, intelligent gentleman. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you celebrate Steve's life, and the loss his passing leaves.

Prayerfully,

Laura, Paul, and Scott Moyer

Karen, John, Dan & Pete,

We grieve the passing of our dear friend Steve. We will miss his passion for life and the joy of his companionship. The memories of backyard soccer and hockey, Fourth of July fireworks, Thanksgivings, barbecues, and so many fascinating and funny conversations will remain forever in our hearts. We are grateful that Steve was a part of our lives, he will never be forgotten.

May our Lord keep you near as you mourn his death and may your precious memories of Steve assuage your grief. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

With sincere condolences,

Dear Karen, John, Dan, and Peter,

I was so sad to hear about Steve's death. I knew he lived in California. I have very fond memories of Steve when he was a youth at Lakeview Lutheran Church. Steve, Tom Dehmer, and some others in his class were very special to me. We went to New Orleans together for a Youth Convention, and it was a special time. I am so sorry for all of you. My prayers are with you all.

I will miss our trail side chats. The hills around here will be a much lesser place without you. Godspeed Steve.
