Steve Seifert, born on May 30, 1952, died on September 26, 2024, in his home, following a year-and-a-half battle with cancer. He was 72 years old.
He left behind a legacy that was as unique and colorful as his life. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, brother Tim, brother-in-law Paris Bickharry and sister-in-law Michelle Seifert. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Rochelle Robideau, proud father to Elton and Josh and grandpa to Jayden Seifert. He was a loyal son to mother Catherine Erickson and stepmother Gayle Seifert. Loving sister Cathy Bickharry and brothers Craig, Ken, and Larry plus many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many close friends. Steve was also a devoted dog owner-a title he wore with pride.
In 1996, Steve founded Broadcast & Design Group, and what started as a small venture became a powerhouse of creativity. Steve was a highly accomplished creative, receiving countless awards throughout his career. His innovative vision and creative talent helped shape memorable campaigns, leaving a lasting impact on the advertising industry and earning widespread recognition for his agency's exceptional work.
Over the years, his company worked with more than 1,000 clients. Steve didn't just build a business-he built relationships, the kind that go deeper than contracts and numbers. His real gift, though, was connecting with people. Steve never forgot a name or a face, and he had a knack for remembering the little details, making each encounter feel special. He'd bring up something you mentioned years ago, leaving you wondering how on earth he remembered-and a little flattered that he did.
Steve's stories were legendary. Whether it was about his time working at Sully's gas station at age 16 or a project at the advertising agency, Steve made you feel like you were right there with him. And just when you thought the story couldn't get any better, it would end in the kind of laughter that makes your sides hurt.
When Steve semi-retired, he took on a new full-time job-Christmas light engineer. What began as a modest display of a few trees and lawn ornaments grew to 25,000 lights synchronized to music, broadcast on a short-range FM station. His home became a must-see stop on the annual Christmas lights tour, stretching over his entire lot, the doctor's office next door, and even around the corner.
So, the next time you see twinkling Christmas lights, it might just be Steve saying "hi"-a little reminder that his spirit, like those lights, continues to glow brightly.
A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
