Stephen Stone, 81, of New Castle, formerly of Connersville, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his home. He was born August 1, 1944, in New Castle, IN to Harley and Mary (Razor) Stone.
Steve was a graduate of Ball State University and was a farmer and sold meat. He traveled extensively in his youth having lived on an Indian Reservation, a Hippie Commune, in the middle of nowhere in Canada, he was a lumberjack in Oregon and lived in the Caribbean Islands.
Steve loved the outdoors and gardening. He would grow over 200 tomato plants every year.
Steve is survived by wife Sue (Foust) Stone, whom he married August 1, 1987, children: Cinnamon Washington, Crystal Archuleta and Dustin Neuhaus, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sister Joan Payne and brother David Crabtree as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Neuhaus, parents, listed above and brother Jimmy Stone.
A funeral to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 19, 2025, at South Memorial Drive Church of God 3800 S. Memorial Drive New Castle, IN. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery, Mt. Summit, Indiana.
