It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Stephen Ziring on July 6th, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in 1943 in Philadelphia, Stephen was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and uncle who touched countless lives throughout his remarkable journey.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Gail. Their marriage of 56 years was filled with steadfast support, companionship and love. He set the bar for his children and grandchildren to follow. Stephen's legacy continues through his devoted children: daughter Laura Durkin (husband Brian), daughter Heather Leonardo (husband Chris), and son Steve Ziring (wife Amy). A proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren - Brian Jr., Jack, Grace, Bella, CJ, Max, Gavin, Skylar, and Josie. All of whom were the light of his life, each capturing a piece of his heart.
Stephen is also survived by his dear sister, Marian Derins, with whom he shared many cherished memories throughout their lives.
Stephen dedicated 35 years of his life to educating young minds as a teacher in the Philadelphia School District. Stephen’s biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. His eyes would light up whenever they were near, and he delighted in sharing stories, playing games, and creating precious memories that his family will treasure forever. When he wasn't with his children and grandchildren, Stephen could often be found outside, caring for his lawn and nurturing his garden. He enjoyed capturing life's beautiful moments through his photography.
With love and gratitude, we say farewell to a remarkable man who walked this earth with grace and kindness, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure.
The Ziring family invites all who knew and loved Stephen to join them in mourning his passing and celebrating his extraordinary life. A visitation time will begin at 10:30 am where family and friends will gather, providing an opportunity to reflect, remember and rejoice in the profound impact Stephen had on all our hearts. Memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on July 17, 2025, at the Goldstein's Rosenberg's Funeral Director, Suburban, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.
